Pakistan Securities Capital Gains Tax (Section 37A)
The Pakistan Securities Capital Gains Tax Calculator computes federal CGT on shares, mutual funds, and derivative disposals under Section 37A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Modeling the NCCPL capital gain tax schedule, holding period classifications, and Active Taxpayer List (ATL) filer versus non-filer rates, it determines net investment gain after tax.
Capital gains on listed equities, shares of public companies, units of mutual funds, and Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) financial instruments are taxed under Section 37A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Unlike other capital assets, securities capital gains tax is automated and withheld directly at source by the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL). Securities acquired on or after July 1, 2024, are subject to a flat 15% rate for filers, whereas non-filers are taxed at standard income slabs.
